Prop fails to overturn suspension
Wigan's Stuart Fielden will miss Friday's Carnegie Challenge Cup clash with Salford after losing his appeal against suspension.
The prop forward was banned for one match and fined £300 after being found guilty of raising his knees going into a tackle during Friday's 16-8 Super League defeat at Warrington.
Fielden, who has missed just one of Wigan's 16 League and Cup matches so far this year, had been hopeful of overturning the ban and had been included in coach Brian Noble's initial 19-strong squad for the quarter-final Cup tie.
He must also pay £200 to cover the cost of the additional hearing.
