Fijian centre moving to Belle Vue on two-year deal

Wakefield Wildcats have confirmed Daryl Millard is to join them from NRL side Canterbury Bulldogs. The 24-year-old Fiji World Cup centre will move to Belle Vue next season after signing a two-year contract. Millard is the Wildcats' fourth major recruit for 2010 and is expected to replace Warrington-bound England centre Ryan Atkins. "Daryl is a player who burst onto the scene for St George Illawarra Dragons and I have followed his career with great interest ever since," Wakefield coach John Kear said. "We saw off competition from other Super League clubs for his signature and we believe Daryl has his best years ahead of him and he is a major and exciting capture for our club." Millard, who helped Fiji reach the semi-finals of the 2008 World Cup, will join Terry Newton, Glenn Morrison and Shane Tronc in joining the Wildcats. "I have been impressed with Wakefield's progress and that is one of the main reasons I chose to come to the club," he said.
