Former Crusaders chief heading back to Australia
John Dixon has secured a new coaching position just 48 hours after being released from his post with the Celtic Crusaders.
The Australian parted company with the Welsh side after four years at the helm following Sunday's 35-22 defeat at Castleford.
The Crusaders finished bottom of Super League in their debut season having managed just three wins all term.
However, Dixon has quickly found himself employment having been named as the new head coach of Queensland Cup outfit Redcliffe Dolphins.
"I'm looking forward to coming back to Queensland and the challenges of coaching in such an elite competition at the most successful club in Queensland Cup history," he stated.
Dixon will arrive back in Australia within the next month which will leave Wales looking for a new coach for the European Cup.
The former schoolteacher, who turns 58 in December, previously spent ten years working under Wayne Bennett at the Brisbane Broncos before joining the Crusaders.
