Jon Sharp has been released from his position of football operations manager by Hull FC.

Former Huddersfield coach frustrated by new role

Hull FC have announced the release of former Huddersfield head coach Jon Sharp from his role as football operations manager. Sharp spent 11 years with Hull as a player and rejoined the club a little over a year ago to work with head coach Richard Agar at the KC Stadium. However, with 12 months still remaining on his contract, the Airlie Birds have taken the decision to show Sharp the door. "The club will not have the role of football operations manager next season, therefore Sharp has been released from his contract at Hull FC," the club stated. "The club would like to thank him for his contribution this year and wish him the best of luck in his future career." Sharp revealed that he was left frustrated by his position at Hull and says he is now looking to become a head coach once again. "It appears that I don't figure in Richard Agar's plans for next year," he said. "I came to the club as an experienced head coach and I found the role of football operations manager really frustrating. "I wasn't able to influence the team as much as I would have liked due to my role. I really missed the responsibility and the challenge. "It confirmed to me that I am a head coach and that's what I would like to do."
