The England academy have named their initial 2010 squad with a family theme running through the group.

Initial 29-strong group named for 2010

England have named their initial academy squad for 2010 with a family theme running through the group. The 29-strong squad will play three fixtures next year against France in June and two Tests against the Australian High Schools in December. Bobby Goulding and Ben Crooks will hope to emulate their fathers Bobbie Gouling (France coach) and Lee Crooks (former Hull, Leeds, Castleford and Great Britain forward) respectively. Elsewhere the younger siblings of internationals Tom Briscoe and Sam Burgess, Jack Briscoe and George Burgess are also named among other promising players. The squad will meet up throughout 2010 for coaching sessions and meetings run by the new full-time development coach, whose position is yet to be filled by the RFL.
