Catalans Dragons have been given the go-ahead to renovate their council-owned ground.

Stade Gilbert Brutus renovations confirmed

Catalans Dragons have been given the green light to renovate their council-owned ground. The Dragons hope improvements due to be carried out by Perpignan City Council to the Stade Gilbert Brutus will increase their income and provide a major boost to the Super League franchise after two years of stagnation. Work on a new 1,500-seat stand, which will incorporate a new club shop, corporate hospitality, a restaurant and a bar, will start in March. Ground capacity will be cut to 7,000 until the work is completed and the club confirmed today that the home games against Leeds, Bradford, Wigan and Warrington will be switched to the city's 14,000-capacity Aime Giral Stadium. "This is the best news since the Catalans Dragons were formed," said Catalans chairman Bernard Guasch. "With the new facilities, our club will reach another level which will allow us to become one of the top Super League clubs."
