Wigan have agreed to allow Shaun Ainscough to stay on loan at Castleford until the end of the 2010 season.

Winger delighted to be remaining at the Jungle for the rest of 2010

Wigan have agreed to allow Shaun Ainscough to stay on loan at Super League rivals Castleford until the end of the season. The winger initially joined the Tigers on a one-month deal following the loss of utility back Richard Owen for the rest of the campaign. The 20-year-old made an immediate impression at the Jungle, scoring a hat-trick on debut in front of the Sky Sports in a loss to Hull KR. Wigan will be able to recall Ainscough at 48 hours' notice and he will not be eligible to play for Castleford in this year's Challenge Cup.

Welcome news

"This is very welcome news and I am grateful to Wigan for agreeing to extend Shaun's loan period for the full season," Tigers coach Terry Matterson said. "He has gone well for us in his short time at the club and I'm hoping that he will be crossing the whitewash on a regular basis throughout the season." Ainscough, who was dual-registered with Championship side Widnes at the start of the campaign, is delighted to be extending his stay with Cas. "I have enjoyed my short time with Castleford so far and now I'm looking forward to playing regularly in Super League and hopefully I can score a lot of tries for the Tigers," he said.
