Former Robins reserve hoping for full-time deal at Quins

Jack Latus is hopes to celebrate Christmas by signing a full-time contract with Super League side Harlequins. The former Hull KR reserve can play on the wing or at full-back, and has starred in trials with the London club after turning up last week. The 22-year-old has impressed Quins' new head coach Rob Powell and has been promised a decision on his future at Christmas. Latus' brother Sam broke into the Hull KR senior team in 2010 but his hopes were dashed when he sustained a serious injury in pre-season training and was forced to undergo a knee re-construction. "Jack has passed a medical and has joined us on trial, which will be reviewed at Christmas but I'm excited by what I've seen so far," said Powell. "He comes with a glowing reference from the medical and coaching staff at Hull KR. So far he has responded well in training and seems to be enjoying life in London."
