Rising star pens new contract until the end of the 2014 season

Castleford have tied rising star Casey Canterbury to a contract until the end of the 2014 season. The Tigers have fought off a number of rival clubs to secure the England academy hooker. Canterbury, who came through the Tigers' scholarship programme, excelled for the club's under-18s last season and is now making waves in their under-20 side. "It is good news for the club that Casey has committed to this contract," said Castleford head coach Ian Millward. "I've been very impressed with what I have seen of Casey and the development staff rate him very highly. He's seen that Cas gives youngsters opportunities to fulfil their dreams in Super League."

Changes

Meanwhile, Millward has rung the changes for Friday's visit to Stobart Super League leaders Huddersfield, his first game back in charge following his return from compassionate leave. Centre Joe Arundel ends a three-match absence with a shoulder injury, back rower Brett Ferres returns from suspension and close-season signing James Grehan is poised to make his second appearance. Making way for the trio are former Huddersfield winger Josh Griffin, who has a hip injury, and forwards Stuart Jones and Oliver Holmes, who are both rested. Captain Danny Orr will undergo a fitness test after picking up an arm injury in last Saturday's 42-16 defeat at London.
