Clermont returned to the summit of the Top 14 standings on Saturday with a 22-11 win over Racing Metro in Paris.
Clermont are now the only unbeaten team in France and the first to win at Racing's Stade Yves Du Manoir fortress this season.
A young Clermont side were rewarded for their enterprise while their hosts were penalised for their numerous errors.
Clearly the better side on the side, les Jaunards' defence was near-impenetrable.
Clermont led 10-6 at half-time thanks to a try from Kiwi centre Regan King and poor discipline from the Parisians.
Racing struck back through a try from South African loose forward Jacques Cronje but two drop goals from fly-half Brock James secured victory for Clermont.
