Brock Lesnar left Randy Orton bloodied and bruised as he crushed The Viper by technical knockout in their long-awaited match at WWE SummerSlam in Brooklyn.

The Beast Incarnate's continued clubbing blows to Orton's skull caused the 12-time world champion to be covered in claret and the officials to award Lesnar a dominating victory.

Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Lesnar also floored Smackdown commissioner Shane McMahon with an F5 as he headed to the ring post-match to check on a prone Orton.

Lesnar had blasted Orton through the Smackdown announce desk early in their contest but The Viper rallied, clocking The Anomaly with an RKO onto the Raw table and another in the ring.

Orton then kicked out of an F5 but had no answer to Lesnar's vicious strikes - the Smackdown Superstar streaming with blood as his first pay-per-view bout of 2016 ended in defeat.

AJ Styles and John Cena stole the show, however - the in-ring veterans putting on a wrestling clinic before Styles edged The Cenation Leader following a Styles Clash and a Phenomenal Forearm.

Cena had kicked out of earlier Styles Clash and Phenomenal Forearm attempts as well as wriggled free of a Calf Crusher, while Styles escaped an STF and an Attitude Adjustment.

However the finish came when Styles somehow survived an Attitude Adjustment from the top and rope and lamped Cena with his two trademark moves to record his second singles win over Cena - this time without the assistance of Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.

Cena's girlfriend Nikki Bella made a triumphant return to the ring, teaming with Alexa Bliss and Natalya to defeat Becky Lynch, Naomi and Carmella in a six-woman tag match.

Bella, who has been out of action following neck surgery, was the shock replacement for the suspended Eva Marie in her trio and secured victory by pinning Carmella inside The Barclays Center.

Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho also enjoyed tag success, the Canadians knocking off Enzo Amore and Big Cass in the SummerSlam opener when Owens threw Amore into a Jericho Codebreaker.

Plus, at SummerSlam Kick-Off, Sheamus defeated Cesaro to move 1-0 up in their best-of-seven series; Sami Zayn and Neville edged The Dudley Boyz; and American Alpha, The Usos and The Hype Bros proved too strong for The Vaudevillains, The Ascension and Breezango.
