Seth Rollins' productive night on WWE Raw ended in excruciating fashion as he was powerbombed onto the ring apron by Hell in a Cell opponent Kevin Owens.
The Architect had impressed by stealing Chris Jericho's ever-growing list of gripes and pinning Owens and Y2J at the same time in the Triple Threat main event with a double-powerbomb.
However, Rollins was then thrown into the steel steps by Jeri-KO before being blasted onto the side of the ring by Owens, the man he will challenge for the Universal Title on Sunday night, live on Sky Sports Box Office.
Rollins and Owens' dustup will take place inside the unforgiving Hell in a Cell structure, a setting Raw general manager Mick Foley knows intimately.
The Hardcore Legend took a death-defying tumble off the top of the Cell when he wrestled The Undertaker in 1998, before falling through the roof later in the match.
Foley impressed upon Raw Women's Champion Sasha Banks and Charlotte how career-changing the compound can be while he chaired the pair's Hell in a Cell contract signing.
The Boss and The Nature Girl listened to Foley but proceeded to put pen to paper and make the first-ever Women's Hell in a Cell bout official.
Elsewhere on Raw, Cesaro and Sheamus warmed-up for their Tag Team Title skirmish with champions The New Day on Sunday by knocking off the fan favourites in a non-title match.
Enzo Amore pinned Karl Anderson; Bo Dallas and Golden Truth beat Curtis Axel and The Shining Stars respectively; while Bayley and Dana Brooke clashed after an arm-wrestling contest.
Braun Strowman refused to wrestle Sami Zayn but did thud the Canadian into the ring barricade while Brian Kendrick, defeated by Rich Swann in singles action, begged TJ Perkins to let him win the Cruiserweight Title from him on Sunday night - to no avail.
