The Awesome One and Ziggler faced off on Smackdown's 900th episode, with The Miz emerging victorious when his wife, Maryse, pushed Ziggler into a pinfall.

Ziggler had managed to fend off interference from his former Spirit Squad pals, Kenny and Mikey, but still went on to lose the title he ha pinched from The Miz at No Mercy in October.

Elsewhere, Kalisto warmed up for his Cruiserweight Title opportunity against Brian Kendrick at Survivor Series by defeating NXT star Oney Lorcan with a Salida del Sol.

Nikki Bella's singles skirmish with Carmella ended in a no contest, with the match called off when Bella smashed Raw Women's Champion Charlotte, who was watching at ringside, with a forearm.

Bella's actions instigated a massive brawl between Raw and Smackdown's female stars ahead of their clash at Survivor Series, which included Nia Jax being slammed through the barricade.
