When Raw wrestler Roman Reigns watches Smackdown's TLC pay-per-view on Sunday night he should encounter mixed feelings.

For while he was unable to win the WWE World Championship from Sheamus in a TLC Match at last year's pay-per-view, he did manage to give Triple H an almighty beating!

The TLC Match - Sheamus v Roman Reigns

Sheamus' then League of Nations comrades, Alberto Del Rio and Rusev, helped prevent Reigns from retaining the WWE World Title inside TD Garden - and that spelled punishment for not only the League but Triple H as well!

Reigns - who had been yanked off the ladder by Del Rio and Rusev as he seemed poise to grab the belt, and then Bogue Kicked into defeat by Sheamus - blasted Del Rio and Rusev with spears before viciously attacking Sheamus with a chair.

Triple H tried to appease Reigns but the irate former Shield man went berserk, nailing the The Game with a Superman Punch, ample chair shots and an elbow drop through the announce desk, before spearing him out of his boots as he attempted to stand.

Reign' mood improved dramatically the next night on Raw, however, as he pinned Sheamus to win the title, after the Irishman had surprisingly granted him a rematch and Vince McMahon had told him that if he failed to down the Dubliner he would be fired from WWE.

McMahon and The League of Nations would interfere on Sheamus' behalf but to no avail, with Reigns nabbing his second world title and keeping hold of the belt until the backend of January when he lost it to Triple H in the 30-man Royal Rumble Match.

The Tables Match - The Wyatt Family v The ECW Originals

Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman, Erick Rowan and Luke Harper beat The Dudley Boyz, Rhyno and Tommy Dreamer in their own environment last year, winning an elimination Tables Match in pretty convincing style, with Rowan the only member of their brood to be banished.

Rowan's departure just over four minutes into the bout - the red-bearded brawler nailed with a 3D through the timber - gave the veterans hope, but The Wyatts rallied after that, starting when Harper booted Rhyno into a table and Bray sideslammed D-Von through another.

Harper displayed his athleticism by downing Dreamer with a suicide dive, before Strowman chokeslammed Bubba for the victory. Wyatt will take on ECW Original Rhyno at TLC 2016, too, when he and Randy Orton try to snare The Man Beast and Heath Slater's Tag Titles.

The Ladder Match - The New Day v The Lucha Dragons v The Usos

The New Day are in the midst of a lengthy tag team title reign - in less than two weeks, they could have broken Demolition's record 478-day stint with the straps - with Ladder Match success 12 months ago one of their most stellar triumphs.

WWE TLC 2015 - The New Day

It was far from plain sailing for The New Day - Big E dropkicked into a ladder by both Uso twins at one point - while Lucha Dragons star Kalisto wowed the crowd when he cracked Jey Uso through a ladder with his trademark Salida del Sol.

However, Kalisto was scuppered by the non-participating member of The New Day, Xavier Woods, who clubbed the masked marvel with his trombone, allowing Kingston, and not the cruiserweight, to retrieve the titles which were hanging above the ring.

The Chairs Match - Alberto Del Rio v Jack Swagger

Del Rio had beaten Jack Swagger at WrestleMania 29 in 2013 to retain the World Heavyweight Title - and he beat him again in Boston to retain the United States Championship he had pinched from John Cena at Hell in a Cell.

In a match where the metal seat was the only legal weapon, Del Rio recovered from having his ankle wedged inside a chair courtesy of Swagger's Patriot Lock to pin The Real American after stomping him into a glut of chairs in the corner of the ring.

Del Rio then dropped, regained and dropped the championship during the winter months while feuding with Kalisto, before departing WWE in September of this year - a defeat to Cena on Smackdown his final match in the company's ring.
