Lana says Ronda Rousey would 'definitely have a place' in WWE

Lana is itching to wrestle regularly for WWE – with a women’s championship her ultimate aim.
The 31-year-old’s main role right now is managing her husband, Raw Superstar and former two-time United States Champion Rusev.
Lana’s only televised match to date came on the WrestleMania 32 pre-show last April, in which she competed in a five-on-five women’s bout.
But The Ravishing Russian has recently secured singles victories at NXT live events and says she will enter the title picture “when the time is right”.
Asked by Complex whether she would like to wrestle on the main roster, Lana said: "Absolutely. I love my job and I love that I can work with Rusev - but I will go after that championship when the time is right.
“Those things don’t happen overnight – but when I step in that ring, I will be great. Just like when I’m on the mic, I know I can turn that whole crowd, that’s how I’m gonna be in the ring.
“I’m training, and I go to NXT to get my fix, but I’m the slow and the steady. This is a marathon, not a sprint.”
Triple H and Stephanie McMahon have not hidden their desire to see former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey make the switch to WWE when she retires from MMA.
And Lana believes Rousey – who threw Triple H and McMahon from the ring during a guest appearance at WrestleMania 31 in 2015 – would “definitely have a place” if she wanted to compete in the squared circle.
However, she admits she will be in no rush to face the 29-year-old, who also scooped a bronze medal in judo at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
“If she wants to do it, she’ll definitely have a place in WWE,” Lana added of Rousey, who has suffered back-to-back UFC defeats, to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes.
“We (professional women wrestlers) are where we are because of her - she influenced so much.
“She main evented UFC. She made women’s fighting a headline. She was one of the big people who changed the game.
“I think Ronda’s a huge part of changing the way WWE is now - she’s an amazing athlete and would bring a huge mainstream draw.
“I would be scared to fight her. I better practice my Holly Holm kicks!”
Watch Lana every week on Monday Night Raw, live on Sky Sports 5.
