Sixteen men headed to Blackpool over the weekend looking to become the inaugural WWE United Kingdom Champion – but it was teenager Tyler Bate who came out on top.
The youngster from Dudley knocked off his former mentor Pete Dunne in the final at Empress Ballroom, despite being attacked by his opponent before the showpiece bout.
You can watch highlights of Sunday’s action in the video at the top of the screen as the quarter-finals, semi-finals, title match and Bate’s coronation took place.
Wales’ Mark Andrews wowed fans with a series of high-flying moves, while Dunne showed his mean streak by refusing to shake Andrews’ hand ahead of their pulsating last-four bout.
You will also catch a glimpse of ex-rugby league star Eorl Crabtree – the nephew of British wrestling legend Big Daddy – and West Brom midfielder Darren Fletcher, who watched from the crowd.
Watch the video below below to see the best of day one, as the eight last-16 bouts were contested.
