Roman Reigns gets unfair criticism, says Big Show

Big Show has backed Roman Reigns to overcome the boo-boys as he continues his WWE career.

Reigns, a former three-time world champion, garners a mixed reaction from WWE fans, much like company stalwart John Cena.

However, Big Show says the Raw Superstar - who battled Braun Strowman at Fastlane on Sunday night - will silence his detractors with his hard work.

"People don't understand how good Roman is," Show, who is still eyeing a WrestleMania clash with basketball legend Shaquille O'Neal, told Forbes.

"He's easy to pick on because he's good looking and he's athletic, especially in our society with social media.

"The internet is filled with so-called experts who couldn't lace up a pair of boots. He's getting a lot of grief for stuff that isn't his fault.

"It's the in-thing to boo [him]. In time, through Roman's work ethic, he'll be able to change a lot of those opinions."

Discussing which current WWE Superstars most impress him, Show said: "My two favourites right now are Seth [Rollins] and Roman.

"Seth is amazing, he does A to Z. He does it in the ring, on the mic. He's not finding himself, he's found himself.

"As far as cruiserweights, I really love [Rich] Swann and Neville. [Neville's] got such an aggressive nastiness. I love it.

"Sami Zayn thinks I hate him, but one day I'd even like to work with little ol' Sami. He's always so happy, I just wanna strangle him!"

The World's Largest Athlete also reserved strong words for UFC star Conor McGregor, who last year said he could "slap the head off the entire roster".

Plus, he explained why O'Neal - who recently revealed a match with Show at WrestleMania is "not looking good" - and Hollywood actor Mark Wahlberg would be strong fits in WWE.

"Hell no," Show said when asked about McGregor making a move to WWE. "Who's Conor McGregor gonna fight? I've dated women bigger than him.

"I love Conor, I love how he runs his yap. He reminds me of that little dog that runs around yapping all the time with a cigar in his mouth.

"He's an amazing athlete in his weight class, but… [WWE stars] Big E Langston, Braun Strowman would floss his teeth with Conor McGregor.

"Shaq would be fantastic in our business. He's a showman, a smart businessman. He's an attraction. That's one of the reasons I want to do this match, I want to show that he can do this.

"Mark Wahlberg would be good in this business, too. He's physically fit and he's a natural trash talker. I'd love to see him cutting a promo."
