AJ Styles tells us about his feud with Kevin Owens for the U.S. Championship, just make sure you don't misuse the word 'phenomenal'

AJ Styles has told Sky Sports he's "excited" to see where his rivalry with Kevin Owens develops as they prepare to battle for WWE's U.S. Championship.

In the video above, Styles tells us about his feelings ahead of their upcoming clash at WWE Backlash, live on Sky Sports Box Office on May 21. Just make sure you don't misuse his beloved word 'phenomenal'.

Styles is in the UK as RAW and Smackdown come from London's O2 Arena.

AJ will be in action on Smackdown, which will be on Sky Sports 5 HD at 1am on Wednesday morning.

His feud with Owens has become increasingly volatile over the last couple of weeks, with the pair battling each other outside the ring last week before WWE staff intervened.

Styles is used to competing in the UK after years of touring on the independent scene.

He's made a huge impact since joining WWE 16 months ago, the highlight of which were his epic encounters with John Cena for the WWE Championship.

"I think the United States Championship is as big of a deal to me as the WWE Championship, I'm just not in line for that right now and that's OK.

"I set goals and being U.S. Champion is one of those and I want to make that Unites States Championship as important as the WWE Championship."

Sky Sports News HQ, as well as Sky Sports online and social media accounts, will be live at London's O2 in the build-up to RAW and Smackdown.

RAW will be broadcast for the first time at 1am on Tuesday morning on Sky Sports 5HD, Smackdown will be at the same time on Wednesday morning, also on Sky Sports 5HD.
