WWE has dropped its biggest hint yet that Ronda Rousey will step foot in a wrestling ring.

The former UFC Champion, flanked by fellow ex-MMA competitors Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke, were confronted by WWE stalwarts Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch and Bayley after a taping of the Mae Young Classic.

The trio were supporting Shayna Baszler, the final member of UFC's 'Four Horsewomen', who was competing in the WWE tournament.

It's been long rumoured Rousey will appear at Wrestlemania 34 next year and she recently spent some time training at WWE's Performance Center in Florida.

She also appeared at Wrestlemania two years ago, teaming up with The Rock to confront Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.

Rousey isn't the only one with WWE links with team-mate Baszler making it through to the final of the Mae Young Classic, while Shafir's husband, Roderick Strong, is currently a WWE employee on the NXT brand.

UFC's 'Four Horsewomen' were well known in MMA and received international fame during Rousey's unbeaten streak in the octagon.

Fans are speculating whether the group is gearing up to take on the WWE stable of the same name.

Flair, Lynch, Bayley and Sasha Banks were tagged with the moniker after their memorable matches boosted the profile of women's wrestling in WWE during their days in NXT.

Former UFC Bantamweight Women's Champion Ronda Rousey makes her presence felt at the taping for the inaugural WWE Mae Young Classic

The name is a homage to the famous 'Four Horsemen' faction led by Ric Flair in the 1980s, with Rousey previously admitting it was one of her inspirations growing up.

Her nickname of 'Rowdy' also came from sports entertainment, thanks to WWE Hall of Famer 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper.
