The Shield returned to six-man tag team action to score a win over Sheamus & Cesaro at Samoa Joe at WWE's annual Tribute to the Troops event.
Five matches took place at the 15th staging of the special event, at the San Diego Naval Base, with competitors from both Raw and SmackDown being involved.
Former ring announcer Lilian Garcia returned to sing the national anthem prior to the opening match, which saw the Hounds of Justice run out winners after Intercontinental champion Roman Reigns hit Cesaro with a spear.
Charlotte Flair picked up some momentum for Sunday's Clash of Champions title defence against Natalya when she prevailed in a triple threat against Carmella and Ruby Riot.
Natalya was watching on from the aisle as Flair forced Carmella to tap out to the Figure Eight leglock for the win.
There was another preview of things to come at the Clash with The Usos and the New Day duo of Xavier Woods and Big E defeating a four-man squad comprising Chad Gable, Shelton Benjamin, Aiden English and Rusev.
After being forced to the back by the entire Raw women's roster on Monday night, Absolution regained some of their fire with a triple-tag win over Bayley, Mickie James and Sasha Banks.
After a brawl outside the ring, James rolled back in only to walk ring into a Ram-Paige as the heel trio collected the win.
In the main event, WWE Champion AJ Styles paired up with Shinsuke Nakamura and Randy Orton to defeat Jinder Mahal, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.
As the contest swung back and forth, chaos soon broke loose as all the participants brawled all over the ring, leading to a Phenomenal Forearm on Owens, an RKO to Mahal and Nakamura delivering a brutal Kinshasa to Zayn for the win.
