WWE Analysis: Is it time for Ronda Rousey to main event at Money In The Bank?

When Nia Jax made the challenge to Ronda Rousey at a shocking confrontation in New York City earlier this month, it sent shock waves throughout the wrestling world.
The unusual and unique way of setting up a match by having Nia Jax - the champion - challenging the challenger Ronda Rousey, is unprecedented but has all the making of top billing next month in Chicago.
Should Jax and Rousey headline Money in the Bank, it would follow a recent line of women's matches that have closed out Box Office events.
At this year's Royal Rumble, the first women's Royal Rumble match was given that distinguished slot when Asuka outlasted 29 other women to book her ticket to WrestleMania.
Ironically, Rousey made her WWE debut that night to let the world know that she had arrived.
A little over two years ago the storied rivalry between Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks reached new heights when they main-evented the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view with the first ever women's match with that stipulation.
A month later the two would be in the main event again this time in a Falls Count Anywhere match for the women's title on Raw.
It is evident that the standard of women's wrestling has now reached to the point were they deserve the main-event status and it would only be fitting for Rousey to spearhead the next chapter of that strategy.
Rousey is no stranger to the main-event scene having been on top of six UFC pay-per-views during her time as a MMA fighter that made her the superstar she is today.
Coming off her incredible WrestleMania debut, Rousey's status in WWE has skyrocketed even more from when she initially arrived in January.
There is no doubt she is a massive draw for all that she has accomplished in the past so it is no surprise that her title match with Nia Jax is being presented as a colossal encounter.
Rousey's title shot may have come as a surprise seeing as this would only be her second match in WWE and her first one-on-one match but when you have a box office attraction like Rousey in your company you can see where the powers that be are coming from.
Nia Jax in her own right has made this feud intriguing by seemingly going down the heelish route by goading Rousey this past week on Raw, insulting the crowd and point blank laughing off the challenge that Rousey possesses.
Jax certainly looked more comfortable as a heel as opposed to being the crowd favourite.
There is no reason why this huge match can't be the main event in Chicago. WWE haven't been having a great run of main event pay-per-view matches recently.
Roman Reigns v Samoa Joe at Backlash was disappointing while Reigns' WrestleMania match with Brock Lesnar caused some of the New Orleans fans to turn against it.
Jax v Rousey provides something fresh and needed to close out Money in the Bank.
Arguably WWE's biggest attraction today in Ronda Rousey. And her first title match is enough reason to get all eyes on the growing evolution of the women's division, and the company itself.
