However, the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion looked in severe peril when Big Show, Kane and J&J Security – who had earlier pretended to ditch Rollins – lined him up for a pummelling.

WWE: Late Night - Raw

That was until Sting, the man who will go one-on-one with Authority head honcho Triple H at WrestleMania in his first match in a WWE ring, made his way to the squared circle.

The WCW veteran and Orton subsequently formed a top tandem, with The Vigilante hitting Kane with his iconic baseball bat, Stinger Splashing J&J Security and flooring Jamie Noble with a Scorpion Death Drop, and The Viper concluding the beat-down with an RKO on Joey Mercury.

Orton can now look forward to locking horns with Rollins on Sunday, March 29, the same evening John Cena will attempt to prise the United States Championship from The Bulgarian Brute, Rusev.
