Verdict

This wouldn’t be the strongest renewal of this Grade 1. Angels Breath made late headway in the Supreme Novices’ so a step up in trip should suit, though he looks like a chaser in the making. Brewin'upastorm finished fourth in the Ballymore at Cheltenham and has competed at a decent level this season though was just behind Kateson, who didn’t stay 3m at Haydock, in the Challow Hurdle at Newbury in December. Chosen Mate has raced over 2m so far under Rules but has won a point-to-point so looks a threat to all arriving fresh, though could find ONE FOR ROSIE a tough nut to crack. Nigel Twiston-Davies’ progressive novice ran a cracker under a big weight on soft ground at Sandown last month and has merited a tilt at this valuable prize. Umbrigado takes a huge step up in class but is equally unexposed.
