Verdict

Red Sherlock must have gone into many notebooks after turning a Towcester bumper into a procession last month. But likewise CAPTAIN CUTTER, thrown in at the deep end in a Listed race on his racecourse debut over track and trip but showing a terrific attitude to master Red Sherlock's stable companion King's Palace with the pair clear of the third. He gets the nod in what looks a virtual match with winning pointers Shantou Magic and The Skyfarmer likely to need further. Monte Kaolino shaped with some promise at Lingfield but may only be playing for a place in this.
