Verdict

EYE OF HEAVEN will prove a warm order in this having made a winning debut at Newmarket with Wednesday’s Windsor Castle winner Tactical back in third. He needed only to be pushed out by Frankie for that success and Mark Johnston’s colt gets the vote. Wesley Ward is no stranger to winning this and Gulfstream maiden winner Golden Pal should take the field along nicely while Lipizzaner has been beaten in both starts so far but Aidan O’Brien’s charge can’t be written off with any confidence. The Lir Jet was purchased by Qatar Racing after breaking the all-aged track record at Yarmouth on his debut while Get It finished fourth in the Windsor Castle a couple of days ago but was beaten by the selection before that. Newmarket runner-up Imperial Force represents the same yard as Tactical while Ventura Torment is thrown in at the deep end for his debut but is related to a host of winners including the useful sprinter George Bowen.
