In a competitive and valuable handicap, Tybalt is the choice ahead of Annemasse and Ea. Tybalt showed a good turn of foot to win at Newmarket last time and, even though he has been raised ten pounds for that effort, he is lightly-raced and can keep the improvement coming. Ea has seven-and-a-half lengths to find on Tybalt based on that Newmarket run, although he can almost certainly be rated better than that and is not ruled out by any means. Mesbaah raced too freely for his own good at Newmarket on his seasonal return but, if managing to settle, he could go well. Annemasse is closely weighted with Ea based on Britannia Stakes form, so give him some thought, and Annemasse is also eight pounds better off for two lengths with Al Khaleej based on recent Newmarket form, although the latter is progressive and still holds claims. Finally, Gongidas is improving and the horse he beat at Nottingham last time, Blue Monkey, has won since so he might go well. Once again, though, the selection is Tybalt.
