In depth

Verdict

Kenny The Captain bids for a hat-trick off a 6lb higher mark but TIGER JIM (NAP) is preferred on today’s soft ground. The latter was runner-up in a higher grade sprint at Thirsk on his penultimate start with Escalating behind and Jim Goldie’s charge gets the vote. Naggers earlier double included a course and distance success but he’s 7lb higher than his most recent win at Hamilton though Explain can race off the same mark as when runner-up at Chester recently. Dandyleekie is back on soft going for the first time since winning at Haydock in July and may prove best of the remainder.
