Verdict

The market will probably tell us all we need to know about the Henderson newcomers but Igor is by a proven NH sire out of a winning hurdler and a half-brother to a Flat winner so looks a likely type for bumpers. He is makes more appeal than New Moon but will need to be well above-average to offset his lack of experience. Black Pirate is two from two and also has a course and distance victory to his name, though carries a double penalty. Sporting Press only beat Leostar by a short-head at Musselburgh and is 5lb worse off but ANEMOI won with plenty in hand at Huntingdon and has plenty of scope for further improvement. He can maintain the good recent record of four-year-olds in this and makes more appeal than Carlisle winner Peters Cousin, who failed to land the odds at Sedgefield subsequently. Enlighten is another likely improver and Lomachenko and points winner Sebastopol should be monitored for any market support.
