In depth

Verdict

On soft going a low draw is occasionally an advantage of the straight course and here and WASNTEXPECTINGTHAT starts from stall one. A staying-on third behind a subsequent winner in the Brocklesby at Doncaster last month, he can make the most of his experience. Richard Fahey also runs Connaught Court but the Dandy Man colt Smart Illusion may be a bigger danger. The Great Heir cost 33,000 euros and is a half-brother to a colt who made a winning debut as a juvenile at Windsor last year.
