In depth

Verdict

CHARLES PARNELL has failed to score on the all-weather this year but three of his five wins on turf have come at this track. Simon Griffiths' charge hinted at a return to form last time and gets the nod in this modest company. North Central may improve dropping down a grade today and Tongalooma is better than his comeback run suggests, while Beckermet occasionally threatens to get his head back in front without actually doing so. It's hard to make a case for any of the remainder, though Mission Impossible won on soft ground back in 2009 and has been lightly raced since.
