In depth

Verdict

Cabernet Sauvignon was undoubtedly disappointing when runner-up to Wind Shuffle at Perth. He started odds-on that day after an excellent second to Vino Vino Cavo at Limerick and it may have been the softer ground that caused his demise last time. GOOD LORD has promised more than he has delivered so far both here and in France though he's competed at a higher level. He has never raced on anything other than ground with some give and faster conditions could be just what's required to lose that maiden tag. Echua had some decent form on the level last year and is one to note at a fair price but Gracchus was beaten a long way when third to Sapanara at Kilbeggan last time.
