In depth

Verdict

A bumper ends the day where the Rebecca Curtis runner BLACK JACK BLUES should build on a promising debut and score ahead of Switched Off while Midnight Appeal is an interesting new comer for Alan King. Although we don¿t now how good the form will be from that debut run for the selection he travelled the best for a long way and was only found lacking a turn of foot late on. He should build on that experience and while he is nothing special one of these is well within his scope. Switched Off has the tricky task of winning a bumper under a penalty after staying on well to score amongst similar rivals. That was an improved run from a decent debut but the quicker conditions are an unknown factor and it might be he could benefit from some rain. Midnight Appeal is related to a few useful types over both the jumps and on the level so is entitled to a strong debut while The Darling Boy took a step backward on his second run in ground soft enough for him last time but he should improve for a sounder surface under hoof. As always with these we suggest a market check but Black Jack Blues looks the one to be with.
