In depth

Verdict

The five-year-old Wayward Glance produced a career-best effort over fences to win at Carlisle last week. But a penalty is going to make life even tougher here and he will be giving 22lb to ALLERTON. Fergal O'Brien's recent course winner tries 3m for the time but has won over 2m6f on soft ground and will be tough to beat if his stamina holds out. Goodtoknow went close twice at Wetherby last month and both Gwladys Street and Samurai way were placed last time so can't be ignored. Veteran Mortimers Cross may need this however.
