In depth

Verdict

Peter Beaumont has a good line on his former inmate Jodante and is fancied to land the spoils with Flight Command, while South Bronx ran encouragingly at Perth last time and should make a bold bid to make the rest aware of his presence. Similar comments apply to Enitsag, whose wins to runs ratio reads well for this season and he should not be underestimated this evening. A market move for the last named will be interesting. South Bronx won on his reappearance at Kelso and is respected on that form. He has struggled off his revised mark since then and now faces a tough test from top weight. That said, this will more than likely be a tactical affair and, with Mark Bradburne in great form at present, it would come as no surprise to see him go close. Jodante is capable at this level and also has to be given a second look in the betting. However, the Beaumont team know the horse inside out and his former partner Russ Garrity, who rides Flight Command, will live to any weaknesses. Garrity's mount has been the model of consistency lately and looks to have a fair chance of gaining some compensation for a series of near misses of late.
