In depth

Verdict

Waterspray and Carina Bay could battle out the finish here and we will side with the last named, Buttress may prove best of the others. Carina Bay has not been the easiest horse to train and so is a very lightly raced ten-year-old. He did show plenty of promise on his seasonal return in a better race than this and the fact that the stable are persevering suggests he can pick up a small contest. Waterspray also ran well on his first run of the campaign, but disappointed next time out when tailed off at Newton Abbot. He obviously has ability but is not one to trust. Buttress has also had his problems in the past but has to be given respect on his three decent efforts last season. This is a race that will not take too much winning and Carina Bay could be up to the task.
