Verdict

Winding River showed promise on his chasing debut behind Harrycone Lewis at Fakenham in January and is taken to make a winning return at the main expense of Fullards and Onyourheadbeit. The last mentioned has, like the selection, been put over fences after just one start in a novice hurdle and has to be respected on the evidence of his recent second behind Like A Bee at Stratford. However, Kim Bailey's stable has been very quiet of late and he is probably best watched at present. A Glass In Thyne is similarly lightly raced and is another to consider along with Fullards who represents the in-form yard of Pam Sly. Outclassed behind Ollie Magern on his reappearance, the son of Alderbrook has since won over hurdles at Uttoxeter off a mark of 107 and rates a bigger threat than Heater Dalton's French import Jour de Mee, who showed little on his British debut. Winding River showed enough at Fakenham when last seen to suggest that a race of this nature would be within his compass though and, with Charlie Egerton's horses normally fit enough, the lack of a recent run should not be a problem.
