Verdict

Feu d'Artifice has shown a respectable level of form in two starts so far but Mick Channon's colt is far from certain to stay this trip of a mile and preference is for True Dream, who gets the vote over Soho Square. The last mentioned lacks a previous run but Mark Johnston has done well with his newcomers of late and while the son of Generous may do better over further he has to be respected. Michael Bell's Ribald stepped up on his debut form when a fair fourth at Epsom last time and is entitled to improve further for today's longer trip, while a market move for Proper Lady would be of interest. The vote though goes to Mick Channon's True Dream, who should appreciate today's faster surface and is taken to fulfill the promise that he showed first time out at Epsom, having disappointed on a return visit to the same venue on slower ground last time.
