Verdict

We close out the card with an ultra tight girls only handicap but after a taking victory over course and distance on her last run the vote goes to top-weight JEWELLED ahead of fellow last time out scorers Lady Lam and Light Dubai. The selection wasn't stopping when completing a two length success on that last start and we suggest had she been carrying the 4lbs extra she has on his back for this race that day she still would have won so as long as firm remains in the going description she should follow up. Lady Lam has won twice in five runs this term including when 3lbs better off at Brighton last time. She was running on nicely that day so has every chance of going close again. Light Dubai was only shaken up late in the day to make sure of her win last time out so she maybe better value for that than the margin suggests. Googalong ran well in a strong Newbury handicap for her first attempt in these ranks and is unexposed enough to show us more again but in a tricky finale Jewelled still looks off a fair mark to follow-up.
