Fivehundredmiles won at Chelmsford before placing off today’s higher mark at Leicester but DUCHESS OF AVON is preferred. The latter was winning off a higher mark last year and wasn’t beaten far at Kempton on last month’s reappearance. She may prove good enough in a weak contest. Light Lily’s earlier double came at Southwell while Air Of York has done all his winning over shorter trips so far and Tidal Racer makes more appeal as he steps up in distance for his handicap debut.
