In depth

Verdict

Sociable, who failed to handle the soft conditions at Ayr will be far better suited to this faster surafce, although, she will need to find a little improvement for the step up in trip, while the disappointing Gift Fountain is tried with blinkers. She has some abilty and if the headgear works, she should be involved in the finish. Noble View doesn't look good enough to win a maiden and would have more of a chance in handicaps, while the market may provide the best guide to the chance of Mentro. Starlight Night, out of a mare that won three races in France, is one to keep an eye on, but she faces a formidable rival in Mexican Hawk, who caught the eye behind the high class Islington at Newbury on her debut. She has been given plenty of time since then and she should outclass her rivals.
