In depth

Verdict

Belotto looks to have been found a soft race in which to enhance her paddock value although this will be the fastest ground that she's encountered to date which does raise a question mark and she has been declared to race at Newbury on Tuesday. Green Wadi and Purely By Chance are the obvious dangers. The selection has shown promise on all three starts, the last twice in well contested maidens over ten furlongs at Newbury where she faced stiffer opposition than she does here. She was doing all of her best work at the finish last time and should prove hard to beat if handling the surface. Purely By Chance finished around eleven lengths behind her that day but improved on that performance last time. There should be more to come from her but she has plenty to find on the book. Green Wadi races as though he'll stay this far but he's proved a shade frustrating to follow and is worth taking on again. Dinarius makes his Flat debut for the Pipe yard and is worth a cursory glance in the ring for signs of support whilst Bathwick Minstrel makes some appeal on paper but is probably best watched on debut. In summary, the ground aside, it's hard to envisage Belotto finding a better opportunity to open her account if she lines up here rather than at Newbury.
