PROTOCOL looked a certain future winner when a close third at Killarney but then found 1m1f on soft going beyond him at Gowran. He has a big weight but this is moderate stuff and he can gain compensation. Fast Candy has shown little in three sprints but makes her handicap debut over a more suitable trip while Ross O'Sullivan has acquired Bad Penny from the UK and she's been threatening to win in her recent starts. Intrepid Prince had some form last year but hasn't been seen since October and might just need the run.
