In depth

Verdict

GALTYMORE LAD comes a fair way for his third start and is preferred to Surely This Time and Ice Trooper. Mick Channon's colt improved markedly from first to second runs and a repeat of his fourth here last time out may be good enough to win this. He is well-drawn in stall eight and as long as he gets into gear earlier than last time he should take some stopping. Cinderkamp is out of a dam who was a multiple winner early in her career so is respected, along with Ice Trooper who represents a yard who have excelled with juveniles in the past. Surely This Time has shaped with promise in two starts to date and this Exceed And Excel colt should not be far away; any market confidence would have to be taken very seriously. Bon Appetit needs to improve on a Haydock beginning, stablemate Jealousy Defined doesn't leap off the page, so a bigger threat may be Lady Royale who ran in a decent Doncaster maiden on debut and wouldn't be a shock winner. An open start to the card where it may be worth sticking with Galtymore Lad.
