Verdict

A fiercely competitive sprint but those drawn high probably face a disadvantage in a field of this size. From stall one, Bogart should be in the firing-line as Shane Gray's claim is a plus and he was usually thereabouts off this sort of mark in the second half of last season. Pipers Note also has a good draw and is another to consider, likewise David Barron's Long Awaited who has had a couple of runs on the all-weather. Ladweb can reverse Goodwood running with Desert Ace in October on 3lb better terms while veteran Ancient Cross is still capable of decent form. Silvanus usually comes to hand early bu7t we'll take a chance on the fitness of ECCLESTON. He won on his reappearance last year and his yard took this 12 months ago. David O'Meara's four-year-old will need luck in-running but can reverse Doncaster running with Bogart over this shorter trip.
