In depth

Verdict

The shortlist has to contain Monet's Masterpiece, Alasoun, Contra Mundum and Artistic Lady, with the vote going to Monet's Masterpiece. The well-bred Sir Michael Stoute runner Alasoun is improving with every run and her run behind Duty at Yarmouth last time certainly stands up to close inspection in what is a maiden that lacks strength in depth. Brian Meehan's Contra Mundum also showed improvement at Newbury last time and gets plenty of respect, while Enjoy The Moment's Windsor run puts her in the picture too. Monet's Masterpiece made late headway behind two decent types at Kempton last time and has to be considered, as does Artistic Lady, who is related to plenty of winners and who showed promise on her debut. Finally, the locally-trained Queen Of Song is one to watch out for in the betting but, for the selection, we will stick with Monet's Masterpiece.
