In depth

Verdict

Benhavis is the pick ahead of Mudhish and Spiritofthetiger, with Ten Pole Tudor one to note. The latter is sure to know his game and will be placed to good effect soon, but on this occasion may have to give best to more experienced sorts, with preference for Benhavis. John Dunlop's juveniles always come on for the run, and this son of Lomitas will hopefully settle better than he did when tried over seven-furlongs at Warwick last time. Mudhish takes a drop in class after his fair Newmarket fourth and rates the main danger, while Spiritofthetiger had opponents from much bigger stables behind when just touched off on her Kempton debut. She should give her new trainer something to cheer about soon, but is likely to be outgunned today by our idea of the winner, Benhavis.
