Verdict

PENANG CINTA gets the nod ahead of Carlton Scroop and Zaif, while Inspirina also has claims on the best of his efforts. A fast pace will suit the last named and he could be an attractive proposition for a speculative play at the likely odds. Zaif won here off a 5lb lower mark last October and is respected on that effort. However, he may just need the outing today and others are fancied to hold a sharper edge when the action starts to unfold. Carlton Scroop has enjoyed a profitable little spell and shouldn't be underestimated. However, he is also suffering with the assessor as a result and needs everything to go his way. Therefore, Penang Cinta, who has won four of his last eight starts, gets the vote as the most consistent of the bunch. It will take a career best effort from the top weight but his battling persona is a very persuasive tool when the whole picture comes into focus.
