Sands Crooner and Ziggy Lee are both ahead of the handicapper but it may be worth taking a chance with MAGICAL SPEEDFIT or Matterofact. Sands Crooner was due to line up at Goodwood on Wednesday so that run will have to be taken into account before assessing this race but he won well at Warwick and is due to race from a higher mark in future. That's also the case with Ziggy Lee who hung right handed at Newmarket and lost the race in the stewards' room as a result. He's an unexposed, progressive sprinter from a shrewd yard but his latest antics raise doubts about his ability to handle this track and neither he nor Sands Crooner are ideally drawn. Matterofact failed to land a blow when behind Drifting Gold and in front of Cosmic Destiny but she's capable of going close at a course she runs well and has a 4lb swing in the weights. Orpen's Art, Best One and Magical Speedfit are others in the field with course and distance wins to their name and George Margarson's runner may be the one to side with. He is a shade high in the weights following his win in April but he runs this track particularly well and may get the run of the race so we'll overlook the likely market leaders and opt for Magical Speedfit.
