Verdict

Delcienne can take this fillies' handicap, with Zonnebeke and Magic Verse likely to complete the frame. The selection is dropping back to the sort of mark from which she enjoyed course and distance success in June, when a four length winner from Blaise Wood. A rise in the weights has been her undoing in two subsequent starts, but now off just 2lb higher than that June win, she looks to have the right credentials to be first home again. Zonnebeke remains on the same mark as when well beaten at Yarmouth last time, but there were excuses there as she was checked at the business end of the race, so it should pay to keep some faith in her after a win off a 3lb lower mark at Thirsk last month followed by a good run of this mark next time. She should again go well but may not have enough to win. Magic Verse is another who makes minor appeal. She will be more at home on this ground than when thrashed on fast ground over 10 furlongs here last time, and we anticipate some improvement. For the winner though, we are happy to side with Delcienne.
