Verdict

BONA FORTUNA is the selection in the finale with Mr Harmoosh and Dane Cottage plotted as the dangers. Sir Mark Prescott set the handicapper a puzzle last year by running Bona Fortuna down the field on three occasions and he has responded with a rating of 59. The breeding suggests that he might be better over further though one thing that can be assured is that he should be much better for a winter on his back. Ed Vaughan has had a couple of near misses so Mr Harmoosh is worthy of respect. A winner on fast going at Redcar; he endured plenty of trouble at Lingfield next time around. Dane Cottage probably found 1m4f to be a little too far at Leicester. Nevertheless, that was her best run on turf to date and there is probably more to come. Take My Hand has struggled since scoring in a weak Catterick handicap. Tom Wade is from a very decent stable but his handicap debut at Windsor has to go down as a serious disappointment. The market will tell us whether that was a mere bad day at the office. Bona Fortuna is likely to be the subject of some defensive pricing by the bookmakers but seems the most open to progression among this bunch.
